Colossians 2:6    “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him.”

What does the phrase “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord” mean?

Answer:  Eph. 2:8&9 tells us that “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  Not of works, lest any man should boast.   How do we receive Christ?  By Faith! And we don’t have saving faith in us – it is the gift of God.  Thus we are totally saved by God.  So then, the phrase “so walk ye in Him:”  tells us that the way we continue in the Christian life is by His faith in us.
